Job summary

Cherry Creek School District seeks a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with complex special education needs under licensed staff supervision. You will assist with individualized instruction, behavior support, and data collection in classrooms and remote settings.

Responsibilities include adapting curriculum, preparing materials, monitoring progress, and maintaining IEP records, with emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and collaboration with families and specialists.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma is required.
• No professional work experience required.
• May meet one of several education pathways (two years college or associate degree or demonstrated knowledge via state/local assessment).
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training.
• Medication administration training as needed.
• Proficiency with basic office equipment and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs.
• Support delivery to individuals and small groups to generalize skills.
• Maintain progress and behavior records with licensed staff; report observations to IEP team.
• Assist with materials, tests, attendance, and events like drills.
• Monitor behavior and assist in online/remote learning environments.
• Maintain records and support technology issue resolution.
