Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a licensed professional school counselor to join our district. You will lead development of a comprehensive counseling program aligned to CPS REACH, conduct data-driven assessments, and collaborate with students, families, and staff to promote academic, personal/social, and career success.

You will provide direct counseling, classroom guidance, and college/career planning, while coordinating services and advocating for all students’ growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling.
• Current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counseling Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with CPS REACH framework.
• Conduct annual needs assessments and data reviews to identify student needs and set goals.
• Implement the school counseling core curriculum through classroom, large group, and school-wide activities.
• Provide individual student planning activities in collaboration with students, staff and families.
• Provide responsive services addressing barriers to achievement including counseling and crisis support.
• Provide indirect student support, referrals, partnerships, and advocacy for students.
• Provide system-level support through planning, needs assessments, and professional development.
• Participate in regular professional development to stay current with evidenced-based practices.

Education
