Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a licensed professional school counselor to join the educational leadership team. The counselor provides comprehensive supports across academic, personal/social, and career domains to help all students become productive, well‑adjusted adults.

Key duties include implementing the CPS REACH–aligned counseling program, conducting needs assessments, delivering the core curriculum, guiding Individual Learning Plans, and collaborating with families and staff to support

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling.
• Current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counseling Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and evaluate a CPS REACH-aligned comprehensive school counseling program.
• Conduct annual needs assessments and data reviews to identify student needs.
• Deliver the School Counseling Core Curriculum in classroom and school-wide settings.
• Provide Individual Student Planning activities, including Naviance-based planning.
• Provide responsive services and indirect student support.
• Coordinate with families, staff, and external partners; participate in school system planning and crisis response.
• Engage in regular professional development.
