Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a licensed professional school counselor to join the high-impact counseling team. You will lead developmentally appropriate services addressing academics, career planning, and personal/social growth for a diverse student population.

The role requires a Master's in School Counseling and an active ISBE School Counseling Endorsement, with responsibilities spanning program leadership, classroom instruction, and direct student support within CPS schools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling is required.
• Current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counseling Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with CPS REACH framework.
• Conduct annual needs assessments and data reviews to identify student needs and set program goals.
• Design and deliver the School Counseling Core Curriculum through classroom, large-group, and school-wide activities.
• Provide individual student planning activities to support diploma and postsecondary goals.
• Provide indirect student support through referrals, advocacy, and partnerships with families and community resources.
• Coordinate and participate in professional development for staff and ongoing program improvement.
