Job summary

Ampact’s Reading Corps seeks a Reading Tutor to work with elementary students at a local Iowa school, delivering proven reading activities and coaching students for 20 minutes per session. You’ll be trained and supported by an onsite coach each school day.

You’ll track progress, complete assessments, and grow professionally through coaching and training opportunities. AmeriCorps offers a biweekly stipend and education awards.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance
• Able to follow instructions and improve from feedback
• Proficient with basic computer skills (email, online navigation)
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Age 18+ with HS diploma or equivalent
• US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
• Able to successfully complete a background check

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule
• Track student progress and meet with onsite coach
• Enter student scores into data software
• Commit to growth through coaching and training
