Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps program seeks dedicated Reading Tutors to support students at local schools in Clive, IA. You will lead short reading sessions, monitor progress, and participate in ongoing training to improve outcomes.

Starting as an AmeriCorps member, you will receive a stipend every two weeks and access education awards. You’ll work with a supportive team and contribute to a nationally impactful tutoring effort.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks (email & online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with a HS diploma or equivalent.
• US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide support.
• Track student progress and meet with the school's onsite coach regularly.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
