Job summary

Ampact Reading Corps in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Reading Tutor to help local students become strong readers. You’ll spend each school day working with pairs of students for 20 minutes of guided practice, then return them to their classrooms and begin another pair.

Training is provided and you’ll receive ongoing coaching as you support student growth and confidence through structured activities.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks (email and online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure support.
• Track student progress and meet with the onsite coach.
• Enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to ongoing growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
