Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Florida seeks an Interventionist Teacher to lead CSI small groups, close reading/math gaps, and collaborate with general education staff to implement standards and assessments. The role includes weekly lesson planning, progress tracking, and family communications.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and Florida educator certification, with preference for prior K-12 teaching experience and commitment to IDEA’s AP for All initiative.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred
• Licenses or Certifications: Holding or willing to pursue a Florida educator certification required
• IDEA operates a certification program for non-certified IDEA teachers to gain certification while teaching

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI small groups of at-risk students in reading and/or math to close gaps
• Coordinate with general education teachers to support intervention
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Track progress with formal and informal assessments and update gradebook weekly
• Communicate student progress with families weekly
• Use technology effectively for communication and instruction
• Establish a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives
• Contribute to a positive school culture supporting student learning
• Participate in meetings, tutoring sessions, and after-school activities
