Job summary

Witt O’Brien’s is seeking a seasoned Project Accountant in Houston, TX to support the Accounting department with project budgets, cost allocations, invoice reconciliation, and detailed reporting. The role interfaces with project leads and the accounting team to track and manage projects, ensuring timely delivery after disasters and strong client service.

The ideal candidate has extensive project accounting experience, executive presence, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferred.
• 8+ years of equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of Project Accounting work preferably in a managing consulting firm.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Oracle or other relational database ERP systems.
• Detail oriented with ability to multi-task and work in a busy environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Senior Project Accountant and Project Managers in project setup, project maintenance, project reconciliation and project closeout.
• Responsible for input of billing data into client systems.
• Assist with preparation of monthly client billing which involves creation of invoices utilizing accounting software and collating related backup.
• Assist with invoicing clients on a weekly, bi weekly and monthly basis.
• Assistance with research and resolution of client questions, and creation of credit memos.
• Process Accounts Payable invoices from subcontractors.
• Administrative and accounting tasks as required.
