Job summary

Witt O’Brien’s in Houston, TX, is seeking a reliable Project Accountant to support the Accounting department with project budgets, cost allocations, invoice reconciliation and reporting. This role directly impacts our ability to track and manage projects and respond to client needs after disasters.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in project accounting, a finance/accounting degree, and strong Excel and ERP experience (Oracle or similar).

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferred.
• 8+ years of equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of Project Accounting work preferably in a managing consulting firm.

Responsibilities

• Work with Senior Project Accountant and Project Managers in project setup, project maintenance, project reconciliation and project closeout
• Responsible for input of billing data into client systems
• Assist with preparation of monthly client billing which involves creation of invoices utilizing accounting software and collating related backup
• Assist with invoicing clients on a weekly, bi weekly and monthly basis
• Assistance with research and resolution of client questions, and creation of credit memos
• Process Accounts Payable invoices from subcontractors
• Administrative and accounting tasks as required
