Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking Positive Support Specialists to join our Intensive Community Residential Services programs. You will support individuals with complex medical, behavioral, and mental health needs using person-centered approaches to help them achieve goals and maintain safety.

Responsibilities include promoting independence in daily living, advocating for rights, documenting shifts, and handling crisis situations with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with people with complex needs preferred; 3–5 years preferred.
• Must pass Bureau of Criminal Affairs background check; valid driver's license and MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in daily living activities.
• Advocate for individuals in rights, medical care, and community participation.
• Complete documentation and records each shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely with training provided (PBIS and 245D requirements).
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
