Job summary

Community Reach Center in Thornton, CO is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to assist clients in their recovery within outpatient, residential, and community-based programs. You will share your knowledge of the behavioral health system and help consumers articulate personal recovery goals through one-to-one meetings and group sessions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with an integrated treatment team, documentation, and navigating community resources to support meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with adults who have mental illness preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a community-based setting when needed.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Orients new consumer to the program and available services.
• Meets with consumer to create goal–plans and personal safety plans when needed.
• Partners with integrated treatment team to develop and maintain a database of community resources.
• Utilizes resource database by recommending best services for consumers to aid in their recovery needs.
• Maintains accurate clinical documentation according to Community Reach Center policies.
• Assists with taking/picking up consumers from appointments.
• Collaborates with treatment team to provide additional treatment support.
• Other duties related to position as assigned.
