Job summary

Behavioral Treatment Services in Colorado is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to help clients succeed in treatment programs, facilitate sessions, and support the therapeutic milieu. The role includes outreach at specialty courts and group facilitation to promote pro-social behavior and recovery.

The position emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, and adherence to BTS values. Flexible scheduling and ongoing staff development are provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CPFS/COPA credential in the state of Colorado.
• Personal lived experience with drug/alcohol abuse, criminal justice involvement and/or mental health problems with at least 1 year of recovery.

Responsibilities

• Support clients by assisting them to succeed in the program through orientations, facilitating sessions and supporting the milieu.
• Participate in specialty court dockets, outreach, planning client events and recruitment.
• Facilitate peer support groups and care planning to assist clients in recovery.
