Job summary

Care Resource Community Health Centers, Inc. seeks a dedicated peer support specialist to provide individualized guidance, coaching and connection to personal and community resources.

You will advocate for clients, collaborate with behavioral health teams, and help build social supports while maintaining confidentiality and ethics. The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2 years in the field, and peer certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years related experience preferred in the substance use or mental health recovery field.
• Peer Certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Travel to community resources will be expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support.
• Provide training in the use of personal and community resources.
• Assist in developing formal and informal community support.
• Assist the individual being served by increasing their social support networks.
• Offer encouragement in times of crisis.
• Advocate on behalf of people with behavioral health problems to protect rights and reduce stigma.
• Work with Behavioral Health and Medical teams and family involved in recovery plans.
• Attend Agency staff meetings, Case Conferences, Supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality and observe agency policies and ethical guidelines.
• Participate in staff training and development and serve on committees.
• Travel to community resources as needed.
