Job summary

Care Resource Community Health Center is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to provide individualized guidance, coaching and social support to individuals in recovery from substance use and mental health challenges.

You will collaborate with behavioral health and medical teams, advocate for client rights, assist in developing community resources, and participate in staff training and agency initiatives. This on-site role requires strong communication and crisis-support skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Peer certification required within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years related experience in substance use or mental health recovery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized guidance, coaching and support.
• Assist in developing formal and informal community support.
• Advocate for client rights and reduce stigma.
• Collaborate with Behavioral Health and Medical teams on recovery plans.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision, and participate in agency activities.
