Job summary

NYC School Construction Authority is seeking a Manager of Operations (Mentor Programs) to oversee MWLBE utilization reviews, ensure compliance with regulations and SCA guidelines, and support program development across mentoring initiatives.

The role involves coordinating daily operations, reporting to senior leadership, and leading policy updates to improve supplier diversity and contractor performance within the Industry Outreach and MWLBE Unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Baccalaureate degree and six years of full-time experience in project management, design, construction, operations, administration or related field; four years must be supervisory or management capacity.
• Preferred qualifications: Baccalaureate degree plus six years of full-time diverse experience in monitoring performance and compliance by contractors with labor laws and/or promoting economic development for MWLBE programs; three years in supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead in management of people, processes, and projects to support division success.
• Participate in day-to-day operations to resolve managerial, operational, and administrative problems.
• Create and generate reports for senior management to address operational issues and inform policy.
• Develop and update policies and procedures for responsible areas, integrating best-in-class insights.
• Serve as liaison for multiple Departments, Divisions, and Units within the SCA.
• Plan, assign, monitor, review, and evaluate staff work and recruitment decisions.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Assist in development and implementation of policies for MWLBE programs in procurement.
• Develop metrics to measure Mentor and Graduate Mentor programs and improve them.
• Coordinate and supervise training for Mentor firms and evaluate contractor performance.
