Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. seeks a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform on-site hearing screens in hospital settings, starting after birth. You will work at St. Joseph’s Hospital South and other hospital locations, with on-the-job training and American Academy of Audiology certification.

You will collect data, screen readiness, educate families, upload results, and coordinate follow-up for refer babies while adhering to policies and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures.
• Evaluate patient screen readiness prior to hearing screen.
• Collect data and perform hearing screens for eligible newborns.
• Provide care and respect to babies and families during screening.
• Upload results and reconcile statistics by end of shift.
• Perform screens efficiently without compromising quality or education.
• Provide information to responsible party and educate parents.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
