Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in the hospital setting after birth. You will work on-site at multiple hospital locations, delivering screening services and educating parents on the importance of early detection and timely intervention.

The role requires compliance with PPE and safety protocols, data collection, and accurate documentation. On-the-job training is provided, including annual certification accredited by the American

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required or to be obtained upon offer.
• Weekend and national holiday availability required.
• Entry-level experience with newborns or in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens and provide education to parents on the relevance of hearing screens and the importance of early intervention.
• Evaluate patient readiness before screening; screen only when baby is fed, calm, and not moving.
• Collect data/demographics, perform screens, and document results for each baby.
• Educate families about results and the necessity of follow-up care when needed.
• Upload screening results and billing/state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile statistics.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies; schedule outpatient appointments if needed.
