Job summary

Math Corps, administered by Ampact, is seeking a tutor in Mississippi to help students build math skills. You will lead small tutoring groups, track progress, and participate in ongoing coaching and training to support student success.

The AmeriCorps role offers daytime, Monday–Friday work for the 2026-27 school year, with a biweekly stipend and comprehensive education benefits. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
