Job summary

Holy Cross College is seeking a part-time Library Access Services Specialist to provide front-line circulation desk coverage and support to students, faculty, and staff in McKenna Library.

Reporting to the Director of Library Services, you will manage check-ins/outs, maintain the reserve shelf, assist with library systems such as Folio, Tipasa, and FiNDit, and help ensure smooth daily operations during assigned hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in library services, including circulation or related functions.
• Ability to provide courteous, tactful service with strong communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to library systems, databases, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Serve students, faculty, staff, and other library users across multiple interconnected library systems (Folio, Tipasa, InfoExpress, FiNDit).
• Maintain the reserve shelf and ensure materials are available per course needs; complete check-ins/outs/renewals/holds.
• Maintain orderly shelves and library collections; participate in cross-training and stay current with procedures.
