Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver skilled therapy in patients' homes under supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will implement treatment plans, monitor progress and document outcomes in line with orders and regulations.

Qualifications

• ACOTE accreditation by ACOTE of AOTA or successor organizations
• NBCOT entry-level certification for occupational therapy assistants
• Current license to practice as an OTA in the assigned state
• Current CPR certification
• One year related OTA experience
• If less than one year, regional clinical leaders approval and mentoring

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions in accordance with the physician approved plan of care under the supervision of an occupational therapist
• Documents each visit according to AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards
• Observes and reports patient's response to treatment and changes in condition to supervising OT and clinical staff
• Provides patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs
• Promotes wellness and prevention by promoting occupational engagement
• Demonstrates knowledge of community resources/services
• Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the admitting care center
• Keeps abreast of occupational therapy trends and knowledge for service provision and care coordination
• Other duties as assigned
