Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through its Amedisys home health partner, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled therapy in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed OT. You will implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and document outcomes to support functional independence and safe daily living.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and effective rehabilitation in the home care setting.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited OTA program.
Eligible to take or have completed NBCOT entry-level certification for OTAs.
Current license to practice as an OTA in the assigned state.
Current CPR certification.
One year OT assistant experience; if less than one year, regional clinical leaders' approval and mentoring program.

Responsibilities

Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an OT.
Documents each visit per guidelines for clinical records.
Observes and reports patient response and changes to supervising OT and care team.
Provides resources to patient/caregiver for future ADL/IADL needs.
Promotes wellness and engagement in daily activities.
Identifies community resources/services for patients.
Recommends follow-up care coordinating with the admitting center.
Keeps up-to-date with OT trends and documentation standards.
