Job summary

CareRing Health is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide professional OT services in home health settings across Maryland. You will assess clients, develop plans of care, and collaborate with physicians and supervisors to optimize functional outcomes.

The role requires a degree in Occupational Therapy, active OT licensure, CPR certification, and strong communication as you educate clients and families while coordinating care and documenting progress in a compliant, timely manner.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Occupational Therapy License.
• Graduated from an OT curriculum accredited by AOTA/ACOTE or eligible for NBCOT; or, if licensed before 1978, two years of experience and a proficiency exam.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One-year clinical experience; home health experience preferred.
• CPR certification.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and human relations skills.
• Able to function with minimal supervision.
• Able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Able to employ critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients using age-appropriate norms and growth/development principles.
• Formulate plans of care with client and clinical supervisor and with physician approval.
• Identify unmet client needs and refer to appropriate disciplines.
• Provide education/instruction to client/caregiver to enhance self-care abilities.
• Plan and deliver services in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
• Provide occupational therapy services as prescribed by a physician, including home-based care;
• Document assessments, interventions, and client progress per regulations and policies.
• Supervise and evaluate OTAs and HH Aides providing services as an extension of therapy care.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations and agency standards.
• Participate in case conferences and discharge planning.
