Job summary

South Washington County Schools is seeking a High Needs/Resource Special Ed Paraprofessional at Woodbury Middle School. The role supports instructional and behavioral needs under a licensed teacher, with 6.5 hours per day from 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.

The position starts November 16, 2026, with a closing date of November 9, 2026 or until filled. Starting base pay is $22.70 per hour, with internal eligibility for an additional $0.50 after Highly Qualified status is met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet District 833 Highly Qualified requirements.
• Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833.
• Ability to reinforce math, reading, and writing skills in classroom settings.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Pass Paraprofessional fitness for duty tests.
• Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
• Experience with students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to special education students under supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Consult daily with licensed special education teacher regarding responsibilities.
• Assist with implementing district policies, emergency procedures and classroom management.
• Support students in reading, writing, or math with adapted materials as directed.
• Assist students with daily living activities as needed.
• Record and report student data to supervising teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality and respectful interactions with students and families.
• Participate in district training when offered.
