Job summary

Glade Run Lutheran Services seeks a Family Service Specialist to empower families through skill-building and goal-oriented support. You will provide direct services in clients' homes, adapt hours to needs, and travel as required.

The role involves coordinating with county agencies and schools, documenting progress, and contributing to program outcomes while upholding the agency’s mission of wellness and growth. Strong communication and trauma-informed practice are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with major coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, anthropology, criminal justice, criminology, theology, nursing, counseling, education or other related social science or human services field.

Responsibilities

• Adapt hours to position needs; evenings, weekends, and on-call hours on a rotating basis.
• Travel independently to clients’ homes.
• Empower families to achieve greater independence through skill building, developing positive routines, strengthening coping skills, and supporting individualized goals.
• Follow the Family Empowerment Program’s developmental service model with intensive initial engagement and tapering as families build skills.
• Hold families accountable to program handbook requirements while supporting engagement and progress toward goals.
• Make day-to-day decisions on cases and inform leadership of high-risk issues.
• Provide on-call services and develop crisis plans for assigned clients.
• Implement evidence-based assessments and interventions and ensure fidelity to Family Empowerment models.
• Maintain regular communication with leadership about operations, case flow, and needs.
