Job summary

The Susan B. Anthony Middle School in Revere, MA, is seeking a Long Term Substitute ESL Teacher to support English Language Learners in a self-contained ESL setting and in Sheltered Content Immersion classrooms.

The teacher will co-plan and co-teach with SCI core teachers, align lessons to WIDA 2020 and MA frameworks, monitor progress, communicate with families, and collaborate with Special Education as needed.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts certification as an ESL teacher (5-12) required.
• Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement required.
• Knowledge of MA Core-Content Frameworks and WIDA 2020 Standards.
• Experience co-teaching in SEI classrooms.
• Experience with SLIFE and ELSWD.
• Strong computer/technology skills.
• Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL to ELs in a self-contained ESL classroom and/or co-teach in SCI classrooms.
• Co-plan, coteach, co-assess, and co-reflect with SCI core-academic teachers.
• Teach ESL to students at varying proficiency levels aligned to WIDA 2020 Standards.
• Develop and refine ESL curriculum maps aligned to MA Frameworks.
• Administer and grade department common assessments and monitor student progress.
• Develop, implement, and monitor language goals and inform families of progress.
• Communicate with families via email and meetings; participate in parent events.
• Collaborate with Special Education on EL-SWD accommodations and modifications.
• Collaborate with department and team.
