Job summary

Brex, based in San Francisco, is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to strengthen manager capability and uphold high performance standards across the company. You will run investigations end-to-end and guide terminations and calibrations within a hybrid SF office environment.

You’ll collaborate with People Partners to support promotions, performance cycles, and RTO audits while coaching managers to deliver consistent, impactful feedback in a fast‑growing company.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in HR in high-growth settings.
• Experience running employee investigations end-to-end with documentation.
• Hands-on experience supporting or executing employee terminations.
• Strong performance management in high-performance cultures (feedback, coaching, calibration, documentation).
• Ability to build trusted relationships with managers and influence outcomes.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams.
• Clear and concise communicator, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Partner with front-line managers to ensure consistent, fair, and rigorous performance management.
• Coach managers on setting expectations, delivering feedback, and acting on performance outcomes.
• Serve as the first point of contact for manager questions on performance-related cases and processes.
• Build and maintain resources such as coaching templates, toolkits, and training to strengthen manager effectiveness.
• Run and document employee investigations end-to-end, surfacing themes and risks as needed.
• Provide guidance and operational support on employee terminations, ensuring consistency.
• Own promotions and performance check-in calibrations logistics.
• Partner with People Partners and Workplace Experience on RTO audits.
