Job summary

Knowledge Services, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking an Eligibility Specialist in Columbus, Indiana to assist in processing applications from Indiana residents requesting public assistance, including TANF, SNAP and Medicaid, under the DFR.

You will gather data, verify information, obtain releases and medical records, review regulations, and enter data into the state database while communicating with clients by phone or email.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs face-to-face or via phone.
• Verify information meets state policies and accuracy.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets and other financial documents.
• Review program requirements with clients.
• Enter data into state database.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or email.
