Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Advisor I for a temporary role in Graham, TX. The position focuses on determining eligibility for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and other social services, supporting families in need.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (60 college hours preferred) and at least one year of customer service experience. Training on policies will be provided; flexibility for overtime and travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sixty (60) college hours preferred.
• One (1) year of customer service experience with public contact required.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering personal information in-person or by phone preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Teams and soft phone technology is part of everyday job expectations.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Enter data into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility.
• Process work per state and federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
