Job summary

YAI seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Brooklyn Bay Ridge. DSPs work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, centers, and community settings, providing personal care, supervision, and skill-building support.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, documenting progress, and ensuring safety. Candidates must be 18+, have basic computer skills, and be prepared for varied shifts with training in person-centered care and safety

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands (standing, walking, lifting as needed).
• Willingness to work varied shifts and extended hours when required.
• Experience with basic computer tasks and documentation in health records.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support personal rights, dignity, and independence while building positive relationships.
• Document services and progress in the electronic health record.
• Assist with crisis management per program plans and supervision requirements.
