Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for Bergen County residential programs. The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living, learning, and participating in the community.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, transporting clients, medication administration, meal planning, and implementing Behavior Support Plans as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates enthusiasm for supporting people with I/DD.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands and work in a high-energy environment.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in activities of daily living and personal care as appropriate.
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships with individuals.
• Ensure health, safety and supervision according to program guidelines and BSPs/ISPs.
• Administer medications as prescribed and maintain medication inventory.
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities, coordinating schedules.
• Document progress notes and communicate with team through logs and EHR systems.
