Job summary

YAI is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in East New York, Brooklyn to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across homes, day centers, and community settings. You will help people meet personal goals, encourage social connections, and deliver compassionate care in a structured environment.

The role includes assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health and safety, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Empathy and patience when working with individuals with I/DD.
• Strong communication with participants, families, and staff.
• Ability to work as part of a support team to implement plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths and building positive relationships.
• Ensure safety, provide supervision, and follow behavior support plans.
• Assist with ADLs and administer medications as prescribed, following guidelines.
