Job summary

YAI is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Brooklyn to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in maximizing their strengths and interests. This role involves providing emotional support, engaging in community activities, and ensuring health and safety of individuals supported.

Various schedules are available including full time and part time positions. Training will be provided and the ideal candidate must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to assist with ADLs including personal care and hygiene.
• Must maintain various certifications including CPR and SCIP-R.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and quality of life.
• Provide emotional support and assist with daily living activities.
• Ensure health and wellness through proper supervision.

Skills

Effective written and oral communication skills
