Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Caseworker 2 in Northumberland County to help individuals access resources, build life skills, and stay connected with essential programs. You will develop individualized service plans and coordinate care to support long-term independence.

Key duties include benefit assistance, monitoring services, thorough documentation, and crisis intervention. The role follows a standard 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday schedule with no telework option.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1 or equivalent.
• Successful completion of County Social Casework Intern program.
• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major.
• Bachelor's degree plus 12 related social science credits and one year of relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination including 12 related social science credits.

Responsibilities

• Plan development with individualized service plans outlining goals and supports.
• Guide individuals through applications for financial and medical benefits.
• Review residential and day program services to ensure supports are delivered.
• Maintain records supporting care, life planning and advocacy.
• Lead meetings to evaluate progress toward goals.
• Respond to emergencies as assigned by supervisor.

Education

Bachelor's degree: social welfare

Bachelor's with 12 credits in sociology/social sciences

12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice
