Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Caseworker 1 in Northumberland County to support children, youth, and families. The role involves direct casework, home visits, and collaboration with schools and courts to achieve service plan goals.

Responsibilities include meeting families regularly, documenting case information, and responding to after-hours reports. Telework is not available; standard hours are 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and 12 college credits in related social sciences
• Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in related social sciences
• Equivalents with 12 credits and one year of paraprofessional case management experience
• Applicants may be within two months of graduating to meet educational requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide entry level casework services to children, youth, and families referred to the agency
• Meet regularly with children, parents, and foster families to support service goals
• Schedule and conduct interviews, home visits, and meetings to review safety and progress toward goals
• Prepare forms, maintain case records, and complete required paperwork
• Respond to reports outside normal hours during periodic on-call assignments
• Work with schools, hospitals, courts, and service providers to help families reach service plan goals

Education

Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences

Two years of college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; plus experience as County Social Services Aide 3

Equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 college credits in related social sciences and one year of paraprofessional case management
