Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Caseworker 1 for Northumberland County Intellectual/Developmental Services. You will gather information, support individuals with developmental needs, and guide them through treatment and service options, helping access benefits and set personal goals.

You will develop individualized service plans, coordinate progress, arrange community supports, and maintain documentation, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or equivalent.
• 2 years of college coursework including 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or related social sciences.
• Bachelor's degree plus 12 credits in related social sciences, or equivalent combination with one year paraprofessional case management experience.
• Applicants may meet educational requirements within two months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Plan development: Prepare individualized service plans with goals and required services.
• Benefit assistance: Help individuals complete applications for benefit programs.
• Progress coordination: Lead meetings to review consumer advancement in goal areas.
• Supportive services: Arrange community supports such as budgeting guidance and daily living assistance.
• Documentation management: Maintain records to support continuity of care and advocacy.
• Crisis response: Provide immediate assistance during emergencies as directed by supervisors.
