Poughkeepsie City School District is seeking a Coordinator for Students with Exceptionalities to lead IEP development and oversee related services. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, families, and community partners to ensure compliant, effective supports for students with disabilities.

The position requires a Master’s degree, NYS certification in Special Education or related areas, and a District Level Administrator credential, plus 3+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master's degree and NYS certifications as noted.
• Minimum three years of certified experience with students with disabilities.
• Experience in an urban district with diverse population preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintain knowledge of current Special Education regulations and best practices.
• Support general and special education teachers and administrators in classroom instruction through frequent classroom visitation and feedback.
• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings and ensure compliant, well-written IEPs.
• Lead and supervise the ESY Program and related services coordination.
• Develop data-driven instruction and behavior management approaches for students with special needs.
• Produce weekly reporting documents for assigned sites and maintain required Special Education documentation.
