Job summary

ARCO National Construction Company in Omaha, NE is seeking a motivated Project Manager Intern to support our PM team during the summer. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with estimating, scheduling, design meetings, buyouts, permitting, and site visits.

This internship offers exposure to real-world design-build projects, training, two performance reviews, and a potential path to a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management Bachelor's degree program.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Previous internship or co-op construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Estimating – describe proposals and assign dollar values.
• Scheduling – create working timelines for subcontractors to meet deadlines.
• Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand proposals.
• Buyout – issue bid instructions, schedule and drawings; evaluate proposals.
• Permitting – fill out forms, submit with drawings/fees, and monitor approvals.
• Shop drawing/submittal review – coordinate between subcontractors and PM.
• Billing – manage subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay apps.
• Job site visits – accompany PM to ensure smooth progress.
