Job summary

ARCO Companies in Omaha, NE is seeking a Project Manager Intern to gain hands-on experience in estimating, scheduling, design review, and contract administration. You will support project managers and learn how to manage budgets, timelines, and coordination with engineers and trade contractors.

During the internship you will participate in site visits, request submittals, and support permitting and buyout activities, with housing stipend and potential path to full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil/Mech/Architectural or Construction Management bachelor's program.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Previous internship or co-op construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimating – describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to the projects.
• Scheduling – creating a working timeline for subcontractors to complete the project on time.
• Design meetings – attend meetings with owner and team to understand design proposals from structural engineers and architects.
• Buyout – send bid instructions, schedule, and drawings to subcontractors; evaluate proposals and award subcontracts.
• Permitting – fill out permit forms and submit with drawings and fees for city/county/fire approval.
• Shop Drawing & Submittal Review – review submittals and coordinate with PM and subcontractors.
• Billing – handle subcontracts, change orders, pay requests and pay applications.
• Job Site Visits – visit site with PM to ensure project runs smoothly.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management
