Related Affordable seeks an Assistant Community Manager to support daily operations at an affordable housing community in Chicago, IL. You will work with the Community Manager on leasing, admin tasks, and resident relations to ensure a welcoming environment.

You will help manage accounts, rent collection, and delinquencies, while ensuring compliance with affordable housing programs. This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and service excellence for residents.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing.
• Familiarity with affordable housing programs (e.g., Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC) and compliance requirements.
• Experience with RealPage, OneSite, and JD Edwards (or similar property management software).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for creating great living experiences.
• Demonstrates confidentiality and navigates sensitive issues professionally.
• Demonstrates accountability and reliability by taking full ownership of projects and outcomes, prioritizing precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leasing activities, marketing, resident recertifications and general administrative duties.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, aid in rent collection, and assist in managing delinquencies to maintain financial health.
• Address resident concerns promptly and professionally, fostering a positive living environment; assist in organizing resident appreciation and retention events.
• Ensure adherence to affordable housing program requirements (e.g., HDC, HCR, HUD, LIHTC) by maintaining accurate records and supporting audits.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure timely and high-quality property upkeep, contributing to a safe and pleasant living environment.
• Assist in preparing reports to monitor community performance and identify areas for improvement.
