Job summary

SpaceX in Palo Alto seeks a Physical Design Engineer to develop next‑generation ASICs for Starlink. You will work with systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, product engineering, and ASIC teams to push performance, power, and area targets for space and ground systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering or computer science.
• 1+ years of RTL2GDSII physical design experience or flow development.
• Experience with industry-standard EDA tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partition synthesis and physical implementation steps (synthesis, floorplanning, P/G grid, place and route, timing).
• Develop/mature physical design methodologies and automation scripts.
• Collaborate with ASIC design to meet timing, power, and area targets.
• Resolve design/timing/congestion issues and drive execution.
• Run and fix signoff issues in STA, noise, and physical verification.
