Job summary

Rose Associates is seeking a Compliance Specialist to oversee affordable housing compliance across our New York City portfolio. This role ensures regulatory adherence for LIHTC, HPD, HFA, Section 8, HCR, and SOTA, while supporting the teams responsible for delivering safe, affordable housing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of affordable housing compliance experience with LIHTC and rent stabilization.
• Experience with Yardi, RentCafe Affordable Housing, and Section 8 compliance.
• Knowledge of affordable housing regulations, recertifications, rent registrations, lease renewals, and income eligibility requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and data-entry skills with attention to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with residents, teams, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the recertification process and review move-in files for program compliance.
• Maintain waiting lists and recertification trackers; run Yardi reports and manage deadlines.
• Guide Affordable Housing Associates; set priorities and conduct training.
• Verify lease information, rental rates, agency details, apartment specs, and financial terms; prepare subsidy paperwork.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual government reporting; support audits.
• Monitor program requirements, income restrictions, rent registrations, and LIHTC/HUD increases.
• Collaborate with property management teams, residents, owners, and government agencies to resolve questions.
