Job summary

Rose Associates seeks a Director of Affordable Housing to oversee a growing portfolio, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead teams across sites in New York. The role requires expertise in LIHTC, subsidies, and regulatory reporting, with strong relationships to government agencies and stakeholders.

You will manage audits, certifications, occupancy reporting, and agency submissions while driving performance and accountability across departments. A NYS license or ability to obtain one is expected.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of affordable housing property management experience across multi-site portfolios.
• Deep knowledge of LIHTC, HOME, Project-Based Section 8, Tenant-Based Section 8, CityFHEPS, FHEPS, HASA and related programs.
• Experience administering regulatory agreements, HAP contracts, and agency policies.
• Experience preparing compliance reports, occupancy reports, and management reviews.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a diverse affordable housing portfolio with compliance and resident service focus.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal affordable housing regulations and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate audits, site inspections, file reviews, and agency monitoring visits; implement corrective action.
• Collaborate with property managers to optimize operations and financial performance.
• Lead trainings, mentoring, and performance management for regional and site teams.
• Build strong relationships with NYCHA, HPD, NYCHDC, HUD, and other agencies and partners.
