Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors in school. You will plan and monitor progress, work with teachers on class activities and provide in-class student support to accelerate learning.

We offer 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and ongoing collaboration with partner teachers to ensure student progress, with opportunities to engage across whole-school initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in all tasks is not necessary.
• 2–4 weeks of initial training provided.
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Commit to City Year start summer 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to earn academic success.
• Plan and monitor progress; support teachers in class.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces.
• Support extended day and after-school programs.
• Collaborate with staff to monitor student data.
• Assist with school-wide initiatives.
