Job summary

Fairstead is a purpose-driven real estate firm committed to affordable communities. The Community Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, leasing processes, compliance with HUD/ADA/LIHTC, and tenant relations at the assigned property in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities include managing rents and delinquencies, conducting inspections, coordinating with maintenance and construction teams, and preparing regulatory reports.

Qualifications

• Three years of management experience in property management or related field.
• COS or CPO certification preferred; EIV experience valued.
• Experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC) and HUD rules.
• Proficient with Yardi or RealPage property management software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure leasing compliance with HUD, Fair Housing, ADA and FCRA standards.
• Oversee daily property operations and on-site compliance.
• Manage rents, delinquencies, and collections, including evictions if needed.
• Coordinate maintenance, vendor bids, and unit inspections.
• Prepare regulatory reports and annual recertifications.
• Attend monthly financial meetings and monitor budgets.
