Edward Elmhurst Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Technical Specialist in Immunology at Evanston Hospital. The role focuses on performing microbiology tests, calibrating multiplex systems, and ensuring precise diagnostic results in a collaborative lab setting.

Responsibilities include resolving interdepartmental challenges, maintaining regulatory compliance, and participating in cross-area rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
• MT or MLS (ASCP) certification preferred.
• External/internal experience as specified: 6+ years for external MT/MLS candidates; 3+ years for internal MT/MLS candidates.

Responsabilités

• Perform clinical microbiology tests in multiple sections to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain and calibrate multiplex instrumentation to ensure accurate results.
• Identify and communicate problems that may affect test performance or reporting.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, QC, and staff competencies.
• Rotate through at least three areas of the Clinical Lab and perform routine and special procedures as directed.
