Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a training professional to develop and deliver immersive learning experiences for surface coal mine employees using simulation technologies, VR, AR, and interactive training tools. In this role, you will ensure workers gain the knowledge, skills, and safe work practices to operate heavy mining equipment while complying with MSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of surface coal mining experience.
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety standards.
• Experience operating heavy mining equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Training, instructional design, or facilitation experience preferred.
• Experience with VR/AR learning platforms and mining simulators preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver immersive training experiences for surface coal mine employees using simulation technologies, VR, AR, and interactive training tools.
• Ensure employees gain knowledge, skills, and safe work practices to operate equipment and perform mining activities.
• Facilitate immersive training programs for new hires and experienced employees.
• Conduct equipment operation training using simulators and VR platforms for haul trucks, dozers, loaders, excavators, drills, and other mining equipment.
• Develop and maintain training content aligned with operational procedures, safety standards, and MSHA requirements.
• Monitor trainee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and remediation as needed.
• Track and document employee training records and competency assessments.
• Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and HR teams to identify training needs and skill gaps.
• Ensure all training materials remain current with company procedures, equipment changes, and MSHA requirements.
• Support onboarding programs and annual refresher training.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of immersive learning solutions and recommend improvements.
