Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is seeking Manufacturing Specialists for Bloomington, MN. Pay rate is $20.00-$23.00 per hour with weekly pay and contract-to-hire opportunities. Work shifts are 6:00 AM-6:00 PM or 6:00 PM-6:00 AM in a fast-paced production environment.

You will support all aspects of production, operate and monitor equipment, perform assembly and inspection, handle materials, and participate in lean and quality initiatives while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
• Basic math and measurement skills for production

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of production, including equipment setup and operation.
• Operate machinery to meet schedules, quality and efficiency goals.
• Perform assembly, packaging, inspection, testing and material handling.
• Load raw materials and unload finished products using material handling equipment.
• Complete changeovers, cleaning, and prep for production requirements.
• Inspect in-process and finished products for quality and compliance.

What You’ll Do as a Manufacturing Specialist

• Support all aspects of the production process, including equipment setup, operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance activities
• Operate production machinery and equipment to meet production schedules, quality standards, and efficiency goals
• Perform assembly, fabrication, packaging, inspection, testing, and material handling duties as assigned
• Load raw materials and unload finished products using appropriate material handling equipment, including forklifts when required
• Complete product changeovers, cleaning procedures, and equipment preparation to support production requirements
• Inspect in-process and finished products, identify quality concerns, and take appropriate action to ensure product compliance
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality guidelines while maintaining accurate production records
• Communicate production, quality, maintenance, and safety concerns to supervisors and team members
• Support lean manufacturing, 5S initiatives, waste reduction efforts, and continuous improvement projects

What You Need to Bring to the Manufacturing Specialist Role

• Manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse, or machine operation experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Basic computer skills and ability to utilize production systems and workplace technology
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, production documents, blueprints, diagrams, and safety procedures
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working around moving machinery, manufacturing equipment, and production materials
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Reliable transportation to Bloomington, MN.
