Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, with locations in Chicago and the Western Suburbs, seeks an IME Financial Coordinator for its Westchester, IL corporate office. The role follows up on Independent Medical Exams and payment arrangements with payers, lawyers, and employers, requiring strong organization and attention to detail.

This is a hybrid, full-time position, Monday through Friday. Essential duties include billing mailings, claims submissions, and maintaining clear communications with carriers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
• Workers' Comp experience is helpful.

Ready to join in? We are seeking a full-time IME Financial Coordinator based of our corporate office in Westchester, IL. The IME Financial Coordinator is responsible for following-up on Independent Medical Exams (IME) and services which includes contacting payer (health plan, workers comp adjuster, legal office, and employer) for payment for services in a timely manner. Uses all resources available for follow through on payment of claims. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. This position is hybrid and works Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Mails out bills with reports to insurance company or law firm.
• Submits claims and documentation to responsible parties for processing and payment.
• Maintaining telephone contact with parties as needed to inform and update.
• Maintaining documentation of all correspondence and contact with carrier, claimant, physician, attorneys, etc. to ensure a comprehensive and detailed source of information regarding the case.
• Complete account review and distribution of payments from unallocated accounts.
• Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction.
• Assist staff members when necessary in a positive and professional manner to ensure the patients receive the utmost in care.
• Perform work with accuracy to minimize error correction by other staff members.
• Double check data entry to ensure the correct information has been entered into the NextGen and Athena system.
• Organize and prioritizes work to make sure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stay abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
• Adapt to change in positive and professional manner.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Minimum of one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Workers Comp experience helpful.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Pay Range: $22 - $24 per hour. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity.
