Job summary

Advocate Health's Imaging department is seeking a part-time Imaging Patient Assistant to support the X-ray team. You will transport patients, prepare exam rooms, and assist during imaging procedures, while performing clerical tasks and PACS management as needed.

No prior experience is required; first-year radiography students or enrollees may apply. The role may include front desk duties if needed. BLS certification is encouraged upon hire where required by the department.

Qualifications

• Competent in IV insertion and venipuncture.
• Excellent communication with patients, staff and physicians.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills with email and basic software.
• Able to follow directions and work with technologists and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients prep for exam and transport between rooms.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions and check schedules.
• Prepare exam rooms and manage supplies and equipment.
• Greet patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, and respond to requests.
• Liaise between ordering physician, radiologist and technologist.
• Provide radiology images/records on request and manage health information.
• Document observations and communicate needs to the care team.
• Maintain imaging equipment and sterilize as needed.
• Assist with MRI implant screening as required.
• Provide age-appropriate care per department standards.
